Finance Analyst - Mobile Bridge Project

Responsibilities
Track, analyze, and report project cost performance, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor expenses
Support monthly project forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
Prepare and maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) cost codes and ensure accurate cost allocation
Assist in developing and monitoring project cash flow projections
Produce timely and accurate financial reports for project leadership and district management
Identify cost trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions when needed
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with Kiewit financial standards
Partner with field teams to ensure accurate timekeeping, equipment tracking, and cost coding
Review subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy and alignment with project budgets
Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to financial systems, reporting, and project controls
Help implement best practices across the Bridge & Marine District to strengthen financial discipline and operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights clearly
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a project‑based environment
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset
Willingness to work on-site in Mobile, Alabama for the initial assignment, and relocate for future projects
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
