Responsibilities
Manage a select inventory of claims in accordance with best practices
Provide direct oversight of third-party administrated claims in multiple jurisdictions
Participate in recruiting, hiring, and training staff
Directly manage and develop a team of adjusters through coaching and feedback
Maintain and communicate applicable changes in legislation, case law and/or industry developments
Conduct claim quality review audits
Assist in business growth opportunities
Participate in claim reviews with clients
May perform other functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance marketplace
Thorough knowledge of workers' compensation rules and regulations, claim investigation, litigation management, benefit administration and statutory filing requirements
Proven ability to train, establish performance objectives and evaluate employee performance
Strong negotiation skills
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required
College degree with related work experience or High school diploma/GED plus seven years' experience in the insurance industry; Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required
