HR Generalist

Responsibilities

Lead recruitment efforts for full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff positions, including job postings, applicant tracking, screening, interview coordination, and offer logistics
Partner with the Chief Mission Officer/Integrator and department leaders to understand workforce needs and staffing timelines
Seek out and participate in hiring events and outreach throughout the year as needed
Ensure inclusive and accessible hiring practices
Ensure a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience for all new employees
Coordinate logistics for new hire orientation and seasonal onboarding sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and system setup
Track completion of required documentation, training, and certifications during onboarding
Coordinate IT systems procurement, setup/reset for onboarding and offboarding with FHF’s external IT support team (SkyCamp)
Maintain and organize HR documentation throughout each team members’ employment lifecycle
Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures
Assist Finance department in payroll administration
Collaborate with Finance department on compensation analysis and benchmarking
Support HRIS and applicant tracking system (ATS) processes and reporting needs
Ensure documentation and records are maintained in accordance with legal and organizational standards
Administer Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) tools and software (Ninety) to track goal setting, performance reviews; maintain updated the Organizational Chart and Accountability Charts (EOS)
Create Quarterly Conversation reflection summaries for managers
Administer and track key elements of the performance management process, including timelines, tools, and documentation for goal setting, evaluations, and reviews
Assist managers with training and communication around performance management best practices and serve as the secondary voice in performance conversations when needed
Collaborate with the Chief Mission Officer/Integrator on professional development and retention strategies
Serve as a point of contact for staff questions and concerns, escalating as appropriate
Assist in the development and implementation of staff recognition, celebrations and milestones, and team engagement strategies
Support administration of employee feedback tools, surveys, and exit interviews
Take on special projects related to HR core process, people, and culture with the Chief Mission Officer/Integrator
Coordinate scheduling, communications, and materials for all-staff meetings, department meetings, and internal trainings
Support planning and execution of internal training and professional development opportunities
Track completion of mandatory training and certifications across departments
Support internal compliance and audit processes, ensuring adherence to employment laws, policies, and procedures
Track and report on HR metrics, such as turnover, headcount, and training compliance and provide quarterly reports for the Chief Mission Officer/Integrator, and updates for the SeriousFun Children’s Network as needed
Maintain awareness of federal and state labor law updates and ensure internal alignment, particularly for youth and seasonal employment regulations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
2–3 years of experience in a generalist HR role or similar capacity
Demonstrated experience managing recruitment processes across multiple employment types
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS or applicant tracking systems (Paylocity experience a plus)
Passion for the FHF's mission and enthusiasm for working in a camp and nonprofit environment

Preferred

Knowledge in systems/data management and IT are preferred
