The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory, including monitoring and tracking inventory, cost analysis, and accurate reconciliation and reporting of inventory KPIs.

Responsibilities
Generate purchase orders and perform three-way match within accounting system. Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies
Utilize our accounting system to properly cost, transfer, and dispose of inventory and ensure accuracy of our cost of sales and inventory balances
Prepare and review cost-related journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and adjustments
Coordinate with management, shipping partners, warehouses and suppliers to order and track movement of raw materials and finished goods at various locations
Maintain accurate and complete reconciliations and reporting of inventory, including inventory roll-forwards, inventory on hand registers, and cost analyses
Perform cost and margin analyses by product and make recommendations to improve margins, and identify opportunities or issues with inventory levels
Develop policies, procedures and best practices around all relevant inventory and costing procedures
Track, analyze, and explain cost variances; partner to identify root causes and corrective actions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent
3–5 years relevant experience working in a similar role within an internal accounting team
Direct experience in cost accounting and inventory management
Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles as it relates to inventory and cost of sales
Strong analytical skills and experience driving insights from large datasets in Excel
Enjoy individual contributor roles, with a self-starter attitude
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's Accounting systems
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Preferred
Experience working with NetSuite is highly preferred
Experience in health and wellness retail or manufacturing preferred
