Cable Locator (Engineering Technician I)
Booth & Associates is seeking a Cable Locator who specializes in identifying and marking the location of underground utilities. The role involves responding to call tickets, accurately locating and documenting underground utilities, and communicating effectively with construction crews and property owners.

Responsibilities
Respond to Call Tickets to locate underground utilities
Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate electric cable
Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location
Complete necessary documentation and photograph each locate for record-keeping
Interpret utility maps and as-built drawings to determine the path of underground utilities
Communicate effectively with construction crews, contractors, and property owners
Prepare written documents verifying marked utilities after damages
Distinguish colors to mark utilities with the designated color for the corresponding utility
Qualification
Required
Experience in utility locating or a related field
Proficiency in using utility locating equipment to detect and map underground utilities
Ability to read and interpret utility maps/prints
Own a reliable vehicle
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environmental conditions
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem-solving skills
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
