Aircraft Maintenance Manager I

Responsibilities
Planning and scheduling all aircraft repair and maintenance activities and ensuring those activities are performed safely, on-time, and within budget
Ensuring all foreign object inspections and activities are completed
Ensuring projects are properly staffed with qualified employees and establish work standards, hours of work and appropriate shifts to be worked to accomplish work on smaller, less complex programs
Reviewing maintenance delays and system problems in order to suggest improvements to maintenance processes and procedures
Having overall responsibility for the airworthiness of the fleet and ensuring safe and adequate maintenance is performed at all times with the exception of platform support programs
Qualification
Required
B.A. (or equivalent degree) - a higher level degree may substitute for relevant experience
Typically, 6+ years of progressive aviation experience, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
General knowledge and understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Experience with Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service
A&P certification
This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment
Preferred
Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification and Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
