Contract Specialist
Ardurra is a multidisciplinary civil engineering services firm looking to hire a Contract Specialist to support contract management within the professional engineering industry. The role involves reviewing, preparing, negotiating, and administering contracts while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities
Draft, review, and assist in the negotiation of prime contracts, subcontracts, professional services agreements, task orders, amendments, NDAs, and teaming agreements for engineering projects
Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks, advising internal stakeholders on recommended revisions
Support the company’s Legal Group in developing and maintaining contract templates, playbooks, and standardized language tailored for A/E industry practices
Manage the full lifecycle of contracts—from initial request to execution, modifications, renewals, and closeout
Maintain accurate contract records and documentation in contract management systems
Monitor compliance with contractual requirements, including insurance, certifications, deliverables, schedule obligations, and subcontractor flow-down provisions
Support project managers with interpretation of contract terms, scope requirements, and changes
Prepare and negotiate subcontracts aligned with prime contract obligations, ensuring appropriate flow-down of technical, financial, and compliance requirements
Verify subcontractor qualifications and adherence to licensing, insurance, safety, and regulatory
Facilitate subcontractor onboarding, modifications, and performance tracking
Ensure compliance with state-specific contracting rules
Support adherence to federal procurement regulations (FAR) when applicable
Assist internal teams with identifying compliance risks, especially for public infrastructure and transportation projects
Partner with project managers, engineering teams, finance, and legal to ensure alignment on contract obligations and project delivery impacts
Provide training and guidance on contract best practices and risk mitigation strategies
Support proposal teams with contractual input during RFP/RFQ responses
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or related field
3–5+ years of experience in contract management, preferably within the architecture/engineering, construction, or professional services industry
Strong understanding of contract principles, risk assessment, and negotiation strategies
Experience supporting contract compliance in Washington, Oregon, or California
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management systems
Preferred
Experience with contracts for public agencies (Caltrans, WSDOT, ODOT, municipalities, utilities)
Knowledge of FAR, state procurement rules, and professional engineering licensing considerations
Certification such as CPCM, CFCM, CCCM, or NCMA membership
Familiarity with insurance requirements common to engineering services
