Account Strategist [Anchorage based]
Thompson & Co. is Alaska’s largest and most respected public relations agency with more than 25 years of experience. They are seeking a mid-level account strategist responsible for creating social media content, advising on campaigns, and coordinating projects to achieve client goals.

Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to account managers and senior leadership by supporting the planning, execution, and optimization of digital-first client campaigns
Contribute meaningfully to campaign concepting, content strategy, and platform recommendations aligned with client goals, audiences, and budgets
Participate in internal strategy discussions and bring forward insights based on platform trends, performance data, and audience behavior
Develop, write, and schedule high-quality organic social media content across multiple platforms, ensuring content reflects client voice, brand standards, and campaign objectives
Lead photo and video shoots from concept through execution, including developing creative briefs, securing talent and locations, creating shot lists, and directing on set
Collaborate with internal team members, freelancers, and vendors to ensure visual content meets creative and strategic standards
Support account managers with project management by tracking deadlines, managing scopes, and helping keep projects on time and on budget
Develop and manage project timelines for digital initiatives, coordinating across internal teams and external partners as needed
Maintain organized systems for tracking digital assets, content calendars, and campaign deliverables across multiple clients
Prepare or oversee the preparation of regular digital and social media performance reports for clients
Identify opportunities to expand client work through thoughtful, strategic recommendations grounded in performance and audience insight
Oversee and mentor junior team members by providing clear direction, feedback, and guidance on content development and execution
Review and approve content created by junior staff to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with strategy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or marketing (or relevant experience)
2-5 years of agency or relevant experience
High level of organization, initiative, and professional judgment
Ability to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously
Experience in creating social media content
Experience advising on organic and paid social campaigns
Experience coordinating projects and tracking deadlines
Experience directing photo and video shoots
Experience supporting various client content creation needs
Preferred
Demonstrated experience developing and executing both organic and paid social media strategies
Intermediate to advanced proficiency creating platform-appropriate content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube
5–7 years of hands-on experience using Meta Ads Manager and Meta Business Suite
Experience working with social media management and scheduling tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar platforms
Strong organizational and project management skills
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Photography skills and an eye for visual storytelling
An understanding of and support for Alaska's resource industries
