Sr Analyst, Strategy

Saint Gobain is a leading North American brand in the building products industry, and they are seeking a Sr. Analyst, Strategy to provide insights and analysis for senior leadership decision-making. This role focuses on strategic competitive and market intelligence, enabling data-driven decision-making through modern analytics and visualization tools.

Responsibilities

Own and formalize strategic competitive, market and business intelligence:
Market Intelligence: Research, analysis, and connection of economic indicators, customer demand, and market trends across U.S. geographies. Apply advanced analytical techniques (trend analysis, forecasting, scenario modeling) to inform strategic decisions
Competitive Intelligence: Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Finance to collect and synthesize competitor insights (pricing, positioning, capabilities, go-to-market strategies)
Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI (or similar platforms)
Develop automated reporting pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve data reliability
Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., predictive analytics, natural language insights, automation, generative AI use cases) to enhance analysis and decision support
Oversee the creation of clear roles and responsibilities in these areas and facilitate coordination across functions as both generators and users of the data, formalizing RACIs, communication, etc. where appropriate
Independently conduct ad-hoc strategy analyses as requested; coordinate responses
Support work to prioritize, rank, and evaluate risk/attractiveness of both markets and targets for inorganic growth. Work hand-to-hand with Corporate M&A team and participate in due diligence process and integration planning
Support development of the Long-Range Plan and annual budget through robust analytical inputs, scenarios, and executive-ready materials
Support facilitation of the annual Policy Deployment process, working with business and functional leaders to define strategic priorities and initiatives
Develop and maintain KPI frameworks and dashboards to track progress against Must Win Battles and key initiatives
Provide ongoing performance monitoring, root cause analysis, and insight generation to support course correction and resource allocation
Drive consistent reporting of Business Health Drivers using modern BI tools rather than manual spreadsheets where possible
Structure and manage projects by defining scope, objectives, success metrics, timelines, and stakeholder roles
Create and deliver executive-ready dashboards, analyses, and presentations using modern tools (Power BI, PowerPoint, etc.)
Train stakeholders and end users on dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics capabilities

Required

Bachelor's Degree: Business, Finance, Economics, or Similar, Required
Minimum Five years' experience in Business intelligence & analytics, strategic planning, and business/operational management with previous Business Development experience (e.g., Finance, Business Valuation/Analytics, Market Research and/or Strategic Planning) required
Analytical skills combined with critical thinking and business acumen. Must feel comfortable translating large volumes of quantitative data into useful information. Uses a combination of logic, complex analysis, experience, wisdom, advanced methods and other resources to solve problems; Required
Must possess strong math skills and extremely strong proficiency in systems and PC applications, especially Excel (macros, pivot tables, formulas). Successful experience developing dashboards and predictive analytics to track performance and forecast future trends
Demonstrated experience using Business Intelligence tools (Power BI strongly preferred) to build dashboards, models, and automated reporting: Required
Experience with data modeling, data transformation, and working with multiple data sources (ERP, CRM, financial systems, external data): Required

Preferred

Master's Degree: Business, Finance, Economics, or Similar, Preferred
Mergers & Acquisitions Experience : Preferred
Background in consumer durables, building materials or home improvement products industry: Preferred
Familiarity with AI and advanced analytics concepts such as predictive modeling, automation, machine learning use cases, or leveraging generative AI tools to enhance productivity and insights: Preferred
