Financial Aid Program Specialist
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) is seeking a dedicated Financial Aid Counselor to join Salem State University's Financial Aid team. The role focuses on helping students navigate funding complexities, determining eligibility, and awarding aid funds to MASFA applicants, along with supporting certification and reconciliation duties.

Responsibilities
Determining eligibility and awarding aid funds to MASFA applicants
Providing support in regards to certification and reconciliation of other state funds
Performing other aid administration duties
Qualification
Required
Associate degree
Minimum three years of experience in a financial aid office, or five years within higher education
Knowledge of Federal and State Aid regulations
Background and/or experience working and communicating with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
Experience exercising discretion and handling confidential information
Preferred
Bachelor's or advanced degree
Professional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills and a high level of attention to detail
Possess strong technology skills
Experience working with PeopleSoft
Experience with MA State Aid Programs and systems (Massaid, MASFA Applications)
