National Gypsum Company is seeking a forward-thinking Product Engineer Intern to join their R&D team focused on providing solutions to challenges in drywall manufacturing. The intern will support current R&D projects on new product development and improved product performance through research, prototyping, and testing.

Responsibilities

Assist in the research and development of new products and technologies
Conduct field and lab testing to evaluate product performance under real-world conditions
Assist in data collection and analysis for structural, thermal, and environmental testing
Document findings, test results, and design iterations for internal and regulatory use
Participate in plant visits to observe product applications and gather feedback

Qualification

Lab testing equipmentData analysis skillsCAD toolsPythonExcel VBAProblem-solvingCommunication skillsDocumentation skills

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
Experience with lab testing equipment and safety protocols
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred

Familiarity with CAD tools and related software is a plus
Programming or data analysis skills (e.g., Python, Excel VBA) preferrable
