Finance and Accounting Intern - Shared Services Center

CRH's Americas Materials division is a leading integrated supplier of aggregates and construction services in North America. The Finance & Accounting Intern will gain exposure to key financial processes while supporting various departments within the Shared Services Center, focusing on financial operations and process optimization.

Responsibilities

Assist the different departments with the design of new procedures, training plan and document testing results on new processes. Support integration and standardization of localized finance activities into shared services departments and new platforms
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the SSC to enhance efficiency and compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insight into shared services operations and financial best practices
Assist with the organization and planning for the creation and building of a new SSC from the ground up
Execute a team project with the other interns: Develop an onboarding deck that highlights the business requirements and how shared services fulfill them. Present the deck to SSC leadership team at the end of the internship

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Power Point
Must be 18 years old or older
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Willingness to work independently and within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
Able to read and/or follow written and verbal instructions and implement the same
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to actively listen
Solid problem solving and analytical skills
Eager to learn
Ability to analyze datasets
Ability to achieve results with a hands-on, collaborative approach
Action and Results orientated
Strong planning, organization & presentation skills
