InternCHRISTUS Health is offering a meaningful educational experience for college students to gain valuable experience in Finance and/or Accounting. The Intern will work on various projects and tasks while gaining networking opportunities with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates.

Responsibilities
Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
Primary duties include routine daily, weekly, be-weekly, and monthly reporting to support management needs for information related to service line utilization, cost, and profitability, and business statistics for volumes
Support other functions as needed for budget preparation and analysis, regional initiatives, financial statement and monthly report preparation, and other functions related to financial reporting and analysis
Support CHRISTUS development of budgetary and financial/operational information systems development/deployment
Relate data per reporting systems to CHRISTUS Health Information System for Financial and Clinical operations
Prepare month-end journal entries in accordance with US GAAP, with complete and accurate supporting documentation
Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations
Seek out learning opportunities and be open to constructive feedback to improve overall performance and expand their knowledge of US GAAP
Assist accounting lead and manager with information requests from other teams across the System (both at the corporate office and at our facilities) as needed
Qualification
Required
At least 2 years of college preparation towards major
Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree program; Accounting or Finance
PC and Microsoft Office Skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others
Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills
Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
