Principal Practice Leader - Northwest Energy Transitions

Responsibilities
Lead and tailor Energy Transition services for existing and emergent clients in the PNW region
Develop and oversee strategy for service scope expansion and client acquisition (including industry, port, utility, county, agency, and municipal clients)
Deliver regional energy market updates for internal and external audiences, covering best practices, policy, market, and technology developments
Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at local and national events
Provide consulting services to internal and external clients as a technical leader for energy and environmental policy matters, regulatory analyses as driven by federal, state and local regulations, incentives, investment and evolving regional clean energy development programs and regulations
Assist in the development and planning of new and modified facilities, as well as providing integrated consulting, environmental, design and construction support for some of the largest projects in the PNW region
Coordinate talent and technical support for energy-related projects across PNW, Inter Mountain, Alaska, and North Pacific regions
Assist in recruiting and training additional staff in accordance with regional growth objectives
Manage projects and staff, including providing technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring
Diversify or strengthen service offerings through expertise in: Climate adaptation & resilience planning, Community-informed project development, Symbiotic planning for energy, water, waste and fuels generation & conservation, Utility liaison, Government affairs & public energy planning advisory, Representation in state & regional energy policy & planning venues
Execute work as client and project needs dictate
Work closely with related teams across the Company (e.g., Environmental Permitting & Planning, Sustainability, Environmental Management Action Group, client development teams, etc.) and multiple staff in other offices
Serve in a leadership role for the company culture and values across the organization
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
Professional registration (i.e., P.E., CWRE)
10 years of experience in public and industrial project lifecycle (planning, permitting, community engagement, development, management, and operations) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Fluency with state (Oregon and Washington) and regional energy planning, policy development, and resources
Excellent speaking, facilitation, networking, and presentation skills
Business development, including market sector identification, client development and project execution
Field work and overnight travel may be required
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree in the same
15+ years of experience in public and industrial project lifecycle (planning, permitting, community engagement, development, management, and operations)
