Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer (SQL Server Focus) for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. This role requires strong SQL Server engineering skills to design and optimize end-to-end data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data across SQL Server environments
Develop high-performance T-SQL code, optimize queries, and implement indexing, partitioning, and execution-plan tuning
Create and manage dimensional data models, including fact tables, conformed dimensions, and SCD Type 1/2 strategies
Ensure data pipeline reliability through orchestration, monitoring, data quality checks, alerting, and SLA adherence
Implement CI/CD practices using Git and automated deployment tools to version, test, and release database and pipeline changes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality data solutions

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
3–7+ years of professional experience in data engineering (adjustable based on client needs)
Advanced SQL Server expertise, including T‑SQL, performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and execution plan optimization
Proven experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, PySpark, or Airflow
