Lead Performance Engineer/Architect
Akkodis is seeking a Lead Performance Engineer/Architect for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX. This position oversees end-to-end performance engineering, ensuring applications are scalable, reliable, and cloud-ready, while also collaborating with various teams to optimize application and platform performance.

Responsibilities
Architect, design, and execute performance testing strategies for web, API, microservices, and cloud-based applications
Develop and maintain performance test scripts using JMeter/LoadRunner/K6/Gatling; run load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests
Analyze results to identify bottlenecks across app, database, and infrastructure layers; provide actionable tuning recommendations
Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish robust performance baselines, SLIs/SLOs, and reporting
Monitor runtime metrics (CPU, memory, GC, I/O, network) with APM/observability tools such as Datadog and Dynatrace; drive root-cause analysis
Partner with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Architecture to optimize application and platform performance and continuously improve frameworks and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
12+ years of hands‑on experience in Performance Engineering for enterprise and cloud‑based applications
Expertise with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, K6, Gatling, and proficiency in API/Web performance testing
Experience diagnosing system bottlenecks using APM and monitoring tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, and deep understanding of performance metrics (CPU, memory, GC, I/O, network)
