Brokerage Operations Specialist

TradeStation is an online brokerage firm focused on delivering an ultimate trading experience for active traders and institutions. The Brokerage Operations Specialist for Equities will handle various clearing and back-office functions, working closely with senior personnel and vendors to enhance procedures and provide training.

Responsibilities

Research and reconcile daily Equities and Options trade breaks, identify root causes, themes, and remediation
Perform Post Trade allocations and take ownership of functions, including but not limited to, Static Data Maintenance and trade bookings in Phase 3
Liaise with Counterparties to reconcile discrepancies arising due to Incorrect Trade booking or erroneous clearance, Price correction and/or quantity mismatch and address escalations
Be a strong partner to Product, Risk Mgt., and Compliance teams, leverage the team's resources and strengths and drive projects and solutions
Continuous assessment and evaluation of appropriate processes being performed
Assist in the escalation for business issues and other areas of concern
Ensuring compliance with all firm and functional policy and procedures
Work with the operational support teams to enhance his/her knowledge of the functions performed locally
Support projects and special assignments
Manage and Process Equities options exercises and assignments in Phase 3
Review depository collateral requirements daily and perform weekly/monthly 15c3-3 reconciliation

Required

College degree required, preferably in finance
Extensive brokerage experience and background serving in an operational role in a trading environment
5+ years' experience, the majority of which has been in a trading and back office operational capacity
Familiar with a variety of FCM related concepts, practices, and procedures
Familiar with online brokerage execution and back-office systems, from trade to settlement
Must possess a broad-based brokerage and financial background
Familiar with settlement and clearing processes for Equities and Options
Effective communication skills at all reporting levels
Demonstrate performance within a stressful environment
Experience coaching, developing talent and bonding with co-workers
Must be a self-starter with plenty of initiative and enjoy working in a team atmosphere
Must be ready to make crucial, real-time, ethical decisions
Willing to take on new objectives and initiatives with vision to expand the organization
Familiar with Exchange and NFA rules and regulations related to clearing and settlement of Equities and Options trading
In-depth knowledge of back-office systems, preferably FIS Phase 3 preferred
Proficiency in various Microsoft Office suite of products preferred
