Responsibilities
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees
Represents site engineering as the internal and external contact to the P-8 Program Engineering leadership
Acquires resources for projects and processes and leads process improvements. Achieves goals for cost, schedule, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
Keeps program leadership team informed by communicating daily status, metrics, progress to plan and listening to employee concerns and suggestions
Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations
The candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced, diverse work environment with excellent team work and communication skills
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
1+ years of experience managing and/or leading engineering teams
5+ years of engineering experience
Preferred
Previous experience in military commercial derivative aircraft (CDA) engineering required
Engineering expertise and knowledge of systems with emphasis in CDA Sustainment, analysis, repairs and modification programs, R&M Top Degraders, Health Management Systems and or Project Management preferred
Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)
Experience using Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and processes
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers
