Akkodis is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Java-based applications, collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications aligned with business and architectural requirements
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into high‑quality technical solutions
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices, ensuring adherence to object‑oriented design principles
Perform unit testing, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality and reliability across releases
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely delivery and stable application performance
Work with relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) databases for efficient data retrieval and storage

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
2–5 years of hands‑on experience in Java development with exposure to databases and modern frameworks

Experience working with relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) databases, along with familiarity in RESTful API or microservices architecture
