Assistant Professor (Lecturer) - Criminology
The University of Utah is a Research-1 institution seeking candidates for two career-line faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the Department of Sociology and Criminology. The role involves teaching core courses in undergraduate and graduate degree programs related to Criminology and Sociology, and contributing to the development of the Criminology major and Master’s degree.

Teach multiple core courses in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Criminological Theory, Research Methods in Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, and/or Sociology of Law, as well as elective courses in the Criminology BA/BS and prospective MS degree programs
Bridge the Criminology and Sociology degree programs
Qualification
Required
Candidates should hold a PhD in Sociology, Criminology, or Criminal Justice by the beginning of the appointment
Ideal candidates will be able to bridge the Criminology and Sociology degree programs
Persons appointed to these positions will teach multiple core courses in our undergraduate and graduate degree programs, such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Criminological Theory, Research Methods in Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, and/or Sociology of Law, as well as elective courses in the Criminology BA/BS and prospective MS degree programs
