Engineer 1 - Electric
Global Technical Talent is a staffing firm supporting a major California electric utility. The role involves supporting the Field Engineering group with capital project scoping, field assessments, and process improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Conduct field assessments and power system modeling (e.g., load flow studies)
Support grid modernization, infrastructure replacement, and resiliency programs
Scope capital projects, including overhead/underground conductor replacements, programmable capacitor control, and fuse upgrades
Document and track projects using the client's Project Initiation Forms (PIFs) and Master Distribution Interface (MDI)
Provide recommendations and documentation for system and process improvements
Assist in training and guiding engineering teams on new tools and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Working knowledge of the distribution grid, automated equipment, and telemetry systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical maps and schematics
Familiarity with the client's applications (CYME, DMS, EMS, Circuit Viewer, ADMS, etc.)
Basic understanding of engineering principles and electric power flow
Experience with data validation, troubleshooting, and equipment testing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Apps) for reporting and analysis
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
Effective communication and collaboration skills with engineers, field crews, and stakeholders
