Responsibilities
Design and implement multi‑region high‑availability MySQL architectures using group replication, orchestrators, and failover strategies
Plan and manage sharding, partitioning, and data lifecycle policies to support scalable, low‑latency data operations
Perform advanced performance tuning, including buffer pool optimization, redo log tuning, and IO pattern analysis
Build, maintain, and refine baselines, dashboards, and monitoring systems to detect anomalies and ensure system stability
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving locking, contention, replication lag, or cluster performance bottlenecks
Automate database builds, patching, schema standards enforcement, drift detection, and compliance controls while partnering closely with engineering teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
10+ years of hands‑on DBA experience with MySQL and NoSQL ecosystems (e.g., Couchbase), including production support at scale
Proven expertise in multi‑region HA design (group replication/orchestrators), sharding/partitioning, and advanced performance tuning (buffer pool, redo, IO)
Strong automation and reliability background—build/patch orchestration, drift detection, schema/release governance—with solid security/compliance implementation (encryption, auditing) and ability to coach/partner with engineering teams
