Finance Manager, Amazon Leo Finance
Amazon is seeking a Finance Manager to serve as the strategic finance partner to the Leo Launch Operations team, a critical function within Amazon's satellite broadband initiative. This role will provide financial leadership for launch vehicle procurement and mission planning, ensuring optimal strategies across financial commitments.

Responsibilities
Strategic finance partner to Launch Operations for multi-billion dollar launch vehicle procurement, mission planning, and orbital deployment operations
Design, implement, and lead comprehensive change control processes and governance frameworks for all launch-related financial commitments, establishing thresholds, approval authorities, and escalation procedures
Develop and maintain comprehensive tracking and reporting systems for launch-related commitments, changes, and variances, providing transparency and accountability across the organization
Develop sophisticated financial models evaluating launch economics across vehicle classes, providers, and mission profiles, incorporating technical constraints and market dynamics
Identify, quantify, and develop mitigation strategies for financial risks across the launch operations portfolio, including launch vehicle pricing volatility, schedule delays, mission failures, provider capacity constraints, and regulatory changes
Partner with Mission Management and Legal teams on launch contract negotiations, providing financial analysis, deal structuring recommendations, and evaluation of commercial terms to optimize total cost of ownership
Influence decision-making across multiple infrastructure stakeholders, Program Management, and Legal through data-driven analysis and strategic recommendations
Serve as the finance spokesperson for launch operations in cross-organizational forums, leadership reviews, and strategic planning sessions, including delivering executive-level presentations to VP/SVP leadership, articulating complex launch financial strategies and trade-offs
Qualification
Required
5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred
5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
