Forklift Technician
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Forklift Technician to represent their Distribution Center. The role involves performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility equipment while assisting the Facilities Manager in mentoring the Facilities Team Members.

Responsibilities
Perform all levels of technical repairs on equipment and machinery
Install and repair of electrical equipment, such as lights, outlets, wiring, and electrical and electronic components on equipment
Coordinate with the Facilities Manager or Facilities Supervisor on daily workload
Inspect, test and perform audits of machinery and equipment
Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, MHE control components, and structures using blueprints, diagrams, manuals and written instructions while adhering to all safety guidelines to ensure efficient operations
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctions of equipment and machinery promptly
Construct and install or repair equipment in accordance with manufactures guidelines and repair manual
Repair, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on the facility
Ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers at I/O level
Discuss machine operation variations with Managers, Team Managers, and other Team Members to diagnose problems and machine repairs
Ensures all hazardous material in the Facilities Department is stored in a flammable storage cabinet at the end of each shift or when not in use
Organize, assign and follow-up on maintenance repairs, work orders, projects and other maintenance task as directed by the Facilities Manager or Facilities Supervisor
Work with vendors and contractors as needed
Qualification
Required
Must pass the Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Electrical, and Hydraulic/Pneumatic assessments
General knowledge of all shop equipment, test equipment, and hand/power tools, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, building, HVAC, lighting, electrical, and all other related equipment and structures, security controls and fire protection systems
Good communication, writing skills and basic computer skills
General administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills
Ability to use hand, power tools and shop equipment
Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Ability to follow all Company, State and Federal safety rules and regulations and wear safety personal protective equipment when required
Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word documents
Ability use computer maintenance managing software (CMMS) track parts usage, generate and update work orders
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices
Strong administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills
Good analytical ability to gather and interpret information and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
Knowledge of and skilled in blue print and schematic reading
Work various shifts and locations, as required
Overtime, weekends and holidays are required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Two to four years related experience and/or training
Minimum two years maintenance experience in a distribution center or industrial environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
