Responsibilities
Submit medical records and supporting documentation to payers for reauthorization requests, including network exception requests
Process reauthorization requests across multiple health insurance plans and payer portals
Communicate with referring physicians, clinical staff, and patients to gather any additional information needed for reauthorization
Follow established internal procedures to obtain updated insurance information when a patient’s current policy has been terminated
Utilize internal systems to determine remaining months needed for equipment rental and ongoing services
Monitor reauthorization timelines to ensure requests are completed promptly, preventing interruptions in patient care
Clearly communicate payer requirements, process updates, and outcomes to internal stakeholders
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal, state, and payer regulations
Ensure accuracy and completeness while meeting productivity and quality performance standards
Perform additional administrative or clerical tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in prior authorization and reimbursement processes
Background in medical devices, healthcare reimbursement, or related field
Strong understanding of insurance processes and authorization workflows
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in navigating payer portals and Salesforce
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure
