Prognostics Design Summer Intern 2026
RoboStruct Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to join their Fleet Health Management and Remote Diagnostics team. The intern will support the development of a unified Vehicle and Fleet Health Management framework focused on predictive diagnostics and intelligent fault management across multiple vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities
Support Fleet Health Management (FHM) and Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) initiatives
Contribute to the design and development of a unified framework for monitoring vehicle health at both individual and fleet-wide levels
Develop system health models representing components, subsystems, and complete vehicle systems using telemetry data, engineering inputs, and diagnostic software
Build and maintain a flexible, scalable diagnostic knowledge base that integrates vehicle architecture, hardware, and software across multiple trims and vehicle types
Apply AI/ML techniques for early fault detection, root cause analysis, and mitigation strategy recommendations
Explore the integration of knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs) to enhance diagnostic reasoning, automate logic generation, and improve system explainability and scalability
Collaborate closely with system architects and technical specialists to translate engineering knowledge into actionable diagnostic and prognostic models
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of AI/ML techniques applied to Prognostics and Health Management (PHM), particularly in early failure detection and fault isolation
Solid foundation in systems engineering or vehicle architecture
Experience in data analysis and machine learning, especially time-series analysis and anomaly detection
Familiarity with PHM concepts and methodologies
Exposure to knowledge representation approaches such as knowledge graphs
Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages and relevant AI/ML libraries
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Academic background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program at an accredited institution, with proof of current or upcoming enrollment
Preferred
Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI frameworks, semantic modeling, or ontology development is preferred
Experience with vehicle telemetry systems or signal processing is a plus
