Department Manager, General Merchandise (Relocation)

They are seeking a General Merchandise Manager responsible for the successful operation of the General Merchandise Department, focusing on customer service, staff development, and operational standards.

Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service and deliver on the Value Offer
Schedule staff to maximize customer service and fulfill business needs
Manage the General Merchandise Department to maximize sales and grow profits
Ensure that the daily operating disciplines, as described in the Best Practices Manual (Retail Basics) are consistently met
Ensure operating goals are met by monitoring performance, following merchandizing practices, supporting promotions, maintain operational standards, and controls
Support, train, and develop staff
Participate as a key member of store team, providing leadership to store team and support to the Store Manager
Qualification
Required
Strong customer service skills
3+ years of management experience in general merchandise retail
Record of bottom line and sales results in previous roles
Strong Knowledge of general merchandise operating principles
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both verbally and orally
Computer knowledge of Excel and Outlook
Customer driven
Ability to work with confidential information
