FWS Student Assistant

Responsibilities
Provide tutoring in assigned engineering courses (e.g., Calculus, Physics, Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Programming, etc.)
Assist students in understanding complex concepts, solving problems, and preparing for exams
Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student attendance, and feedback using ESSC tracking systems
Promote active learning by encouraging problem-solving strategies and critical thinking
Attend scheduled meetings and training
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment aligned with university values
Adhere to confidentiality and academic integrity standards in all interactions with students
Qualification
Required
Must have an active Federal Work Study (FWS) award for the current academic year
Applicants must provide proof of their FWS award by submitting a screenshot of their Award Overview from Student Self-Service
Current USF undergraduate student in the College of Engineering
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a grade of B or higher in the courses tutored
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Demonstrated patience and the ability to explain material clearly to peers
Professional demeanor and commitment to supporting student academic success
