Environmental Engineer

They are seeking an Environmental Engineer to support their environmental program across the operating fleet, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities
Develops and implements comprehensive environmental and sustainability programs in accordance with legal requirements, tailored to the organization’s needs and ensures they are effectively communicated and enforced
Regularly evaluate the impact of human activities on the environment to identify potential risks and implement corrective measures
Organize and conduct pertinent training programs for employees to promote awareness and adherence to environmental protocols. Able to instruct lithium-ion emergency response training to local firefighters
Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences
Ensure that the organization complies with local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain accurate records of environmental procedures, training sessions, compliance audits, correspondence and prepare reports for management
Work with planners and entities concerned with environmental impact to address environmental issues and develop sustainable solutions
Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and encourages employees to report unsafe conditions or practices
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, data analysis, and engineering principles related to environmental science
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with stakeholders
Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges
Capability to lead environmental and sustainability initiatives and motivate employees to prioritize EHS
A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or a related field
5 years previous industry experience in environmental work required
Willingness to travel, as needed, to support site risk assessments, audits and training
