Shift Technical Advisor

Responsibilities
Serving as primary support team member for the Operations Manager and Shift Manager to ensure daily operations are safe, effective, and performed in accordance with approved procedures
Interfacing with support organizations to understand planned operations within the facility and ensure activities are in compliance with facility safety basis authorized work
Performing troubleshooting and improvement activities for emerging issues within the operations management scope of responsibility to resolve issues and improve effectiveness in implementation of compliance requirements
Serving in a project management role as needed for coordination of large, cross-cutting activities within the facility that involve multiple interfaces that cross organizational lines
Presenting technical briefings or presentations, as required, that describe and explain approved facility operations and compliance implementation methods
Evaluating proposed modifications or changes against the approved Documented Safety Analysis via the Unreviewed Safety Question
Determining process to ensure changes are within the scope and methods appropriate for the facility
Provide on-call coverage for assigned weekends based upon a rotation with others in the group; on-call is as needed which may or may not require weekend work for the assigned weekend
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
OR Master's degree: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
OR PhD: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major 2 years job-related, and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative)
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
This position may be categorized as a 'designated position' identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination

As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter
