Bridge Engineer
GFT is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer to join their Eastern PA highway team. The role involves working on transformative transportation projects, focusing on the design and analysis of bridges and related structures, while coordinating design activities and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities will grow over time to managing/overseeing scopes, schedules and budgets for projects and daily successful operation of all aspects of project delivery including customer interface
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil or Structural Engineering is required
Professional Engineering (PE) License registered in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 1 year is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the analysis and design of concrete and structural steel bridges (new and rehabilitation) and related simple and complex structures
Experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission policies, standards, and specifications
Proven project experience as a bridge engineer
Demonstrated experience in the structural analysis, design and detailed plan preparation of steel and concrete bridges, retaining walls, and/or parking garages
Understanding of highway/civil/site and geotechnical engineering
Effective time management
Analytical and interpersonal skills
Articulate with a professional presence and solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills
Preferred
Prior experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects preferred including being well versed in client design policies, standards and specifications
Candidate should be well versed in the use of the AASHTO LRFD and LFD Bridge Design Specifications
Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads or OpenRoads design software is desirable
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to grow while working in a team environment, demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivated, and a commitment to continuous improvement
