Mechanical Supervisor
Fortis Industries is seeking a certified Mechanical Supervisor to manage operations and maintenance of building systems and equipment. The role involves supervising staff, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety codes.

Responsibilities
Manage the daily operation, maintenance and repair of all building systems and equipment
Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including development of work schedules, hiring, training and personal development
Perform and assign maintenance and repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance
Complete maintenance and repair records on CMMS as required
Monitor Building Management Systems to ensure business continuity and operation of equipment and systems
Review logs as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment
Provide hands-on service to ensure peak operation and maintenance of building systems
Insure the availability of an adequate inventory of supplies to operate the building
Supervise contracted maintenance and service vendors
Oversee and maintain energy conservation programs
Prepare and submit purchase order requests to Project Manager
Assist in the preparation of the monthly operating report and quality control inspections
Available for on-call after hour issues that may arise within the facility. Position is considered essential personnel to the contract
Demonstrate and maintain Outstanding Customer Service in all areas of responsibility including those of subordinates
Maintain knowledge of applicable OSHA, NEC, NFC and Life Safety Codes
Qualification
Required
8 to 10 years' prior experience in engineering management, government or commercial building operations and maintenance
Certifications: Universal CFC, HVAC Excellence, EPA 608
Must have prior supervisory experience
Candidate must have knowledge of energy management techniques, plant operations, building systems operations, and repair and maintenance
Be able to demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to use time efficiently, and proficiency at problem solving, ability to supervise other on-site personnel, common sense and good judgment
Continuing education in the field
Able to climb ladders and work from heights during the normal performance of duties, physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds or more of equipment and materials
Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Current HSPD-12 clearance a plus
Must be available for on-call, after hours issues. Position is essential personnel
Preferred
