Test Engineering Intern

Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain that integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling. As a Hardware Test Engineering Intern, you will support the design and execution of hardware validation tests for a new product, gaining hands-on exposure across various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, setup and execution of validation tests for a new electromechanical product
Work with cross-functional teams to gain a deep understanding of engineering challenges at hand, and help develop test plans
Help specify, build and maintain physical test infrastructure such as fixtures, instrumentation, environmental chambers and high voltage power supplies
Contribute to the development of test & analysis automation tools
Participate in failure analysis activities, including teardowns and root cause investigations
Collect, analyze, document and communicate key learnings from test data

Required

Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related field
Project experience involving hands-on testing, lab work or electromechanical systems
Strong mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals
Interest in working across various engineering disciplines and willingness to learn
Introductory programming experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Motivated, curious, and eager to learn with a get-it-done attitude
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time
Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
Occasional travel requirements as needed
