Clinical Informatics Analyst

Responsibilities

The Clinical Informatics Analyst(CIA)is responsible for providing ongoing support for corporate/division/facility Clinical Quality Informatics projects related to the electronic health record(EHR)and the Clinical Excellence quality agenda
Key components of this work include standardization, utilization, integration, optimization
The CIA is the key facility resource responsible for delivering the successful implementation of clinical informatics initiatives
They are responsible for coordinating the completion of project assessments parameter settings and assisting with the development of education/training materials
This individual participates in the company-wide community for CPOE, EBCD, and works with their division peers to ensure clinical informatics applications are well supported throughout the facility
The CIA is responsible for ensuring ongoing training, support, and refinement of clinical informatics, Meaningful Use initiatives, publicly reported metrics, as well as additional support for clinical applications throughout the facility
Additional responsibilities will include any upgrades and applications as they are implemented

Required

Bachelor's degree required, clinical degree preferred with strong healthcare facility experience
Master Degree preferred ideally with a focus on Health Informatics
Current RN license in Texas or compact license
Nurse or Health Informatics Certification encouraged
3+ years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting
2+ years of experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical applications support, or equivalent preferred
Meditech experience strongly preferred
Must have previous experience facilitating large projects which includes implementation of health technology
Understanding of pertinent regulatory guidelines such as Joint Commission, HIPAA, State Regulations, CMS, etc
Ability to establish strategic direction through securing information and identifying key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal or vision
Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships across a broad range of personality types
Promote ideas and proposals persuasively; shape stakeholder opinions; project a positive image; work through conflicts; negotiate solutions
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, including Excel data analysis)

Preferred

2+ years of experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical applications support, or equivalent preferred
Meditech experience strongly preferred
