Responsibilities
Assist in all technical aspects of VoIP, Internet, and Data solutions for our clients
Install equipment and services onsite at client locations
Project Manage - Manage and coordinate other resources (including employees, clients, vendors, carriers, and subcontractors) where necessary to: complete onboarding of new clients from start to finish, and provide ongoing support to clients
Configure and install routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, and related hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Yealink, Poly, Grandstream, Mikrotik, etc.)
Deploy and support VoIP services including SIP trunks, hosted PBX, and endpoint provisioning
Implement QoS policies to optimize call quality, video, and overall network performance where necessary
Support LAN/WAN deployments (Ethernet, fiber, VPN, SD-WAN)
Assist with the deployment of Internet access and data transport services (e.g., DIA, E-Line, ELAN, V-Line)
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to call quality, routing, latency, jitter, packet loss, and system performance
Provide phone, remote, and onsite support for network and VoIP systems
Collaborate with sales to assess client requirements and design solutions
Provide technical input for proposals
Deliver remote and onsite client training on Nexxis products and services
Document configurations, manage tickets, and provide timely reporting to management
Qualification
Required
College degree in a technical or business field or equivalent experience
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
2–3 years of hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and onboarding of networking and VoIP environments
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
Experience with VoIP call flows, SIP protocol, and endpoint provisioning
Working knowledge of VoIP and internet properties such as SIP ladder, CNAME, DNS, DHCP, static IP addressing, etc
Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and WAN technologies
Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark or SIP trace
Must be familiar with various industry standard Internet access and data transport services
Proven ability to configure routers and switches from scratch
Must be able to use hand tools and power tools such as drills, screw drivers, cutting tools, etc
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to manage other personnel and projects, and coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, and service providers to complete installations in a timely manner
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Must be able to listen, read, write, and speak English clearly
Must have reliable transportation to and from work, and to NY Metro area client sites
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
Network, Router, and Switch configuration and installation: 2 years (Required)
Hosted VoIP configuration and installation: 2 years (Required)
