Executive Director of Development, College of Education - College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences - College of Public Affairs & Health Sciences

Responsibilities
Maintain a high-level major, principal and planned giving portfolio of (90) active prospects
Raise philanthropic support specific to the colleges through discovery, cultivation, strategic solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of prospects and donors with an annual goal of $2MM - $4MM
Work in consultation and close collaboration with the Deans to develop and implement comprehensive development priorities that strategically align with the colleges and university
Develop and implement an annual strategic plan including determining fundraising objectives and unit goals
Plan, design and implement prospect and solicitation strategies in support of college’s priorities
Develop proposals and serve as lead solicitor for the three college’s major gift solicitations to individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations
Establish and cultivate cross-campus partnerships to identify, engage and solicit prospects for multi-disciplinary UNT initiatives
Collaborate with colleagues across the university to fulfill donor goals and objectives and to implement appropriate stewardship and recognition to include annual giving, corporate and foundation relations and planned giving
Collaborate with UNT’s Advancement services, donor relations and gift administration
Provide leadership and support in managing college-specific development teams
Supervise development teams within academic units focused on major gift fundraising. Providing strategic direction, oversight, and coaching; strategize portfolio assignments and annual/campaign fundraising goals to maximize philanthropy and connection to the three colleges and UNT
Collaborate with the University Advancement team members to fulfill donor goals and objectives and to implement appropriate stewardship and recognition
Lead a team focused on and committed to relationship management both within the University and with constituents outside of the University
Other duties as assigned
Work closely with the Assistant Vice President of College and Unit Development to collaborate on strategic leadership regarding philanthropic development
Participate in and support special project fundraising for university initiatives as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for College and Unit Development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field and eight years of increasingly responsible leadership and/or management experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Understand key global and local issues effecting higher education
Strong knowledge of tax law changes
Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
Experience in effectively planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities
Ability to work effectively in a team and with many diverse constituencies
Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring strategic plans
Demonstrated success in executing fundraising activities, identifying prospects, developing strong relationships, cultivating support and stewarding gifts
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information
Preferred
Advanced Degree
Management experience (3+ years)
Experience in higher education fundraising preferred
Competency in face-to-face solicitations at the principal and major gift level
