LEGAL ASSISTANT: Employment Law (Melville, NY)
Keane & Beane, P.C. is seeking a Legal Assistant specializing in Employment Law to join their team in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of legal tasks, including correspondence preparation, electronic court filings, and maintaining files, while demonstrating strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
Executive legal assistant responsible for regular exercise of independent judgment and discretion in high volume and, at times, high stress practices. Ability to multi-task and attention to detail a must
Accurate proofreading, typing and related preparation of correspondence, answers, responses to petitions, briefs, pleadings, improper practice charges, discovery demands and responses, requests for proposal and auditors' letters; retainers and position statements; includes preparation of/revisions to exhibits and collective negotiations agreements
Electronic court filings (ECF)
Assist with editing and preparation of speech presentations and outlines for numerous presentations
Transcription of limited recorded dictation
Entry of attorney time on TABS billing software
Ability to pull cases, statutes, regulations; etc., from Westlaw
Prepare, organize and maintain files
Logging, scanning and e-mail distribution of all incoming mail and faxes
Telephone and e-mail communication with clients, arbitrators, mediators, and adversaries
Handling professional membership renewals and dues submission and related communications
Handling of registration and hotel reservations for conferences
Maintain calendar and docket. Regularly advise attorneys of upcoming deadlines
Proficiency in English language, including excellent grammar and syntax editing skills
Qualification
Required
At least 3 years of legal experience
Minimum of 3 years legal assistant experience
LIVE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OR EASY COMMUTE TO MELVILLE, LONG ISLAND
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
Westlaw
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Preferred
Prior Labor and Employment Law experience a plus
NetDocs and TABS, A plus!
