Responsibilities
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), providing variance insights and actionable recommendations
Act as a financial partner to operations and leadership, supporting decision-making, cost control, and efficiency initiatives
Ensure accurate and timely management reporting, KPIs, and financial statements, while maintaining compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and accounting standards
Oversee tax planning, filings, and compliance; manage treasury activities, banking relationships, and cash flow reporting
Coordinate external and internal audits, ensure implementation of recommendations, and manage financial risks, controls, and transfer pricing compliance
Monitor product costing, standard vs. actual costs, production rates, and margins; evaluate financial viability of new projects or investments
Contribute to long-term strategic planning, aligning financial goals with business objectives and driving process improvements and automation
Lead and develop the local finance team (2 FTE), liaise with regional/global finance, and foster cross-functional collaboration
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in the areas of business, finance, operational controlling and accounting
Experience within a CRO, CDMO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences organization strongly preferred, with a solid understanding of industry-specific drivers (e.g., project-based costing, clinical trial budgets, revenue recognition)
Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting for complex, multinational environments
Hands-on expertise in cost accounting, standard vs. actual cost analysis, and margin management
Demonstrated experience managing audits, compliance, and tax matters in line with US GAAP and international regulations
Experience partnering with operational and scientific teams to support business decisions and improve efficiency
Preferred
Prior experience in cross-border collaboration (especially with European/global HQs) highly desirable
