The Accountant I role involves assisting with journal entries, transaction analysis, and supporting the month-end close process while contributing to process improvements and collaborating with business partners.

Responsibilities

Assists in the monthly closing process, including the preparation of routine journal entries and flux analysis for non-complex transactions
Prepares routine balance sheet reconciliations
Assists Accountants and Senior Accountants with transaction research
Supports financial statement consolidations
Supports quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audit deliverables
Ad hoc requests as determined by management
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Prior Accounting Experience Required
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multitask
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Basic understanding of internal controls
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and activities and adapt to change
Ability to effectively collaborate with business partners
Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and intermediate-level skills with MS Excel

Preferred

Insurance industry experience is preferred
Exposure to ERP/Finance systems such as Applied EPIC, Kofax, Hyperion, PowerBI, Salesforce, Benefit Point, Blackline, and Oracle is a plus
