Responsibilities
Follows standard approaches and established design patterns to create new designs for simple systems or system components
Identifies and resolves minor design issues
Identifies alternative design options and seeks guidance when deviating from established design patterns
Provides technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for systems testing
Collaborates with technical teams to develop and agree on system integration plans and report on progress
Defines complex or new integration builds
Ensures that integration test environments are correctly configured
Designs, performs, and reports results of tests of the integration build
Identifies and documents system integration components for recording in the configuration management system
Recommends and implements improvements to processes and tools
Provisions, installs, configures, and maintains infrastructure services and components
Monitors, measures, and reports on infrastructure load, performance, and security events
Identifies operational issues and contributes to their resolution
Carries out agreed operational procedures, including backup and restore, using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts
Carries out agreed system software maintenance tasks
Automates routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting
Establishes, monitors, and conducts On-The-Job Training (OJT) to ensure all personnel are proficient in their duties
Ensures compliance with cryptographic security standards
Supervises the maintenance and installation of online crypto equipment
Provides collaboration and assistance to other work sections within Service Operations Branch in support of mission requirements
Performs other duties as required
Qualification
Required
High proficiency level in English language
NATO Secret security clearance
Experience in systems design following standard approaches and established design patterns
Ability to identify and resolve minor design issues
Experience in systems integration and build, providing technical expertise for configuration of system components
Collaboration with technical teams to develop system integration plans
Ability to define complex or new integration builds
Experience in configuring integration test environments
Designing, performing, and reporting results of tests of the integration build
Identifying and documenting system integration components
Recommending and implementing improvements to processes and tools
Provisioning, installing, configuring, and maintaining IT infrastructure services and components
Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on infrastructure load, performance, and security events
