Responsibilities
Gains familiarity with Electrical Engineering concepts, practices, and methodologies
With guidance, performs or assists with a variety of electrical engineering responsibilities, including:
Design and test electrical circuits for EV battery measurement and diagnostics
Build and modify electronic prototypes in collaboration with the E-lab production team
Create and maintain documentation for wiring harnesses and electrical diagrams
Perform hardware and firmware testing, debugging, and validation
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years' experience in a related field
Experience with schematic capture and multilayer PCB design
Preferred
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (internships or graduate-level projects may qualify)
Proficiency in hand soldering (PTH and SMT)
Skilled in using test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, etc.)
Experience programming embedded devices in C++
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, email communication, and technical documentation tools (Word or LaTeX)
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Familiarity with Cadsoft Eagle or Kicad
Knowledge of IPC-2221A board design standards
Experience with communication protocols such as CAN bus and RS-485
Background in power electronics and mixed-signal circuit design
Exposure to industrial instrumentation and automation systems
Hands-on experience with machine shop tools (lathe, mill, bandsaw)
Experience with AVR microcontrollers and impedance spectroscopy
Understanding of lithium battery technologies
