Responsibilities
Provide expert-level engineering and Tier 3 support for Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including advanced troubleshooting of routing, NAT, VPN, security policies, and application-based controls
Design, configure, and optimize Palo Alto firewall architectures, leveraging App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, and threat prevention profiles to strengthen enterprise security posture
Lead firewall deployments, migrations, and cutovers, ensuring secure integration with existing network infrastructure and minimal disruption to business operations
Perform in-depth rulebase analysis, policy optimization, and cleanup initiatives to improve performance, reduce risk, and maintain compliance with security standards
Support high-severity security incidents and outages, conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term remediation strategies within Palo Alto environments
Execute complex firewall change management activities, including software upgrades, high-availability configuration, Panorama management, and scheduled maintenance windows
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of hands-on Palo Alto Networks engineering experience in enterprise environments, supporting physical, virtual, and cloud-based firewall platforms throughout their full lifecycle
Advanced expertise in designing, configuring, and managing Palo Alto security policies, including rulebase optimization, App-ID/User-ID implementation, and threat prevention tuning
Strong technical proficiency in Palo Alto networking fundamentals, including routing, NAT, segmentation, high availability, and resilient firewall architecture design
Proven Tier 3 escalation experience, with the ability to troubleshoot complex, mission-critical security and network issues across multiple layers of infrastructure
Demonstrated experience leading Palo Alto firewall deployments, upgrades, migrations, and cutovers
Preferred
Working knowledge of Panorama management
Working knowledge of Prisma Access
