Systems Design Architect Engineer
Tesla is a leading company in the automotive and energy sectors, seeking an experienced Engineer to join their Abuse Functional Safety group. This role involves investigating complex technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the safety and robustness of Tesla's products through rigorous testing and design improvements.

Responsibilities
Study the properties of electrical failures in battery packs and conduct root cause analysis, including scenarios such as short circuit events, and saltwater in high voltage systems
Develop and validate mitigations to identified issues and coordinate interdisciplinary product improvement implementations
Create experiments to push electrical systems to their limits
Develop internal standards and processes to continue to improve the safety of our products
Collaborate in the design and manufacturing of future products
Qualification
Required
Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Fundamentals in electrical and thermal properties
2+ years' experience in physically applied-engineering
Ability to interact across a variety of groups collaboratively
Practical, hands-on, can-do attitude
Preferred
Failure analysis experience a plus
Lithium ion / automotive / grid scale energy storage experience a plus
