Alcohol Education Specialist

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the team as an Alcohol Education Specialist. This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor and division chief with analysis and evaluation of division programs and projects, focusing on planning and implementing programs to reduce underage drinking and promote responsible alcohol consumption.

Responsibilities

Conveying, interpreting, and explaining grant services, objectives, policies, and procedures to organizations, advisory board members, staff, other agencies, legislators, professional associates, and others as requested
Reviewing and scoring grant applications to determine adherence to requirements
Monitoring and evaluating grantee performance through the review of reports and fiscal expenditures
Reviewing and monitoring grant expenditures by utilizing spreadsheets and databases to make budgetary projections
Monitoring the grantee's expenditure of funds to ensure fiscal accountability and accuracy
Establishing, directing, and monitoring objectives and activities associated with the grants
Conducting site visits as needed to monitor compliance with grant agreements as deemed necessary

Required

Successful completion of the Alcohol Education Specialist Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
