Biomarker Lab Lead Technician (Biorepository Specialist)

They are seeking a Biomarker Lab Lead Technician to supervise junior technicians, ensure quality control measures, and lead research activities in the Biomarker Assay Lab.

Responsibilities
This position will be the Lead Technician for the Biomarker Assay Lab. The lab is a high throughput biomarker analysis lab that focuses on quality and consistent and comparable data
Supervises junior technicians in the lab and provide technical expertise on all instrumentation and processes in the lab. They will monitor lab activities and closely monitor the instruments and the assays
Monitors all quality control measures and ensure the proper functioning of all instruments and assays
Responsible for data quality control and process troubleshooting
Leads research activities and protocol development to ensure best practice and effective processes
Researches, recommends, and implements changes to biorepository laboratory protocols for storage, collection, and analyzation of specimen
Supervises, mentors, and provides training for junior-level staff
Prepares summary data reports, and creates and maintains databases for storage and analysis
Ensures compliance with all applicable local and federal regulations
Maintains equipment, including preventive maintenance, scheduling repairs as needed, service agreement negotiations, trouble shooting equipment malfunctions, and maintaining an active list of vendors to respond to equipment loss
May design and conduct a wide range of complex experiments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field
3 years of laboratory experience
Proficient communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
Highly thorough and dependable
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
Preferred
Master's degree in related field
2 years of experience with automated immunoassay techniques
Experience with Tecan, Quanterix, Fujirebio, and Alamar Biosciences instrumentation and assays
2 years of experience with training junior lab technicians
2 years of experience with QA/QC of processes and data in a high throughput setting
Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
2 years of experience with harmonization of assays and instrumentation
