Responsibilities

Automate, Automate, Automate: Build and maintain robust test frameworks using Java-based tools (e.g., Selenium), ensuring coverage of both frontend/UI and backend/API
Manual Testing (As Needed): Perform hands-on testing for complex or one-off scenarios where automation isn’t yet in place
Test Strategy & Planning: Partner with product managers and engineering leads to prioritize testing efforts based on risk and impact
Code Review & Collaboration: Participate in peer reviews of automated tests, and provide constructive feedback on QA best practices
Performance & Load Testing (Bonus): Identify opportunities to stress-test our software, ensuring it scales gracefully
Reporting & Metrics: Track testing progress, defects, and automation coverage; communicate these metrics across the team and leadership
Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest improvements to testing methods, tools, and processes

Required

5+ years of software testing experience, with significant focus on automation
Proficiency with Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Selenium (or similar automation frameworks), MSSQL, Docker, AWS, and GitHub
Strong automation testing skills in Java, JavaScript and Node.js, using Selenium (or similar tools like Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
Comfortable with manual testing for exploratory, ad-hoc, and one-off scenarios that don't warrant automation
Collaborates closely with product and engineering teams to translate complex business and functional requirements into automated test cases
Understands RESTful APIs, microservices, or SOA architectures, enabling effective API-level automation
Has working knowledge of MSSQL (or other SQL databases) to validate data integrity as part of tests
Uses Docker and AWS for setting up test environments, running containerized tests, or deploying automation pipelines
Leverages GitHub for version control, code reviews, and continuous integration of test suites
Is well-versed in CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated tests into the build process, ensuring that failing tests block releases
Communicates effectively, providing clear, concise feedback to developers and product managers
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Ability to travel up to 10% (minimal travel based on business needs)

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree not required but preferred, especially in a technical or engineering-related field
ISTQB (Foundation, Advanced, or Test Manager)
CSTE (Certified Software Tester)
Certified Agile Tester
Other relevant QA/Automation certifications
