The N.C. Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care and supervision of adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. The Correctional Associate Warden will supervise subordinate staff, manage the Custody section, and ensure the safety and security of the facility.

Responsibilities

Managing the Custody section including the Food Service operation and providing for the safety and security of the facility
Reviewing all incident reports, assigning and reviewing internal investigations, conducting critical internal investigations, reviewing offender requests and responding appropriately, and ensuring that the personnel resources are allocated for the maximum benefit of the facility
Handling special assignments from the Warden and completing all actions necessary as the Facility Safety Manager

Supervisory skillsFacility operations knowledgePrison policy knowledgeCritical investigation skillsCommunication skills

Required

Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility
Knowledge of facility operations
Knowledge of Prisons' policy and procedures
MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of supervisory, administrative, or consultative experience in corrections or related work
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience at or above the Correctional Lieutenant level
An equivalent combination of education and experience
