Product Quality Technician (PQT) –2nd Shift
BorgWarner is a leading company in the automotive industry, and they are seeking a Product Quality Technician for their 2nd shift. The role involves testing and inspecting products throughout the production process to ensure quality and reliability, as well as compiling and evaluating statistical data.

Responsibilities
Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics
Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures, such as gage R&R’s and capability studies
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
Recommends modifications of existing quality standards and work instructions to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics
Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED required
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas
Ability to select products for tests at specified stages in production process
Ability to record test data applying statistical quality control procedures
Ability to evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
Ability to recommend modifications of existing quality standards and work instructions
Ability to set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products
Ability to prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis
Ability to stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand up lifts
Ability to lift shoulder high up to 35 lbs repetitively
Ability to step up and down off lift and walk long distances over extended periods
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
Ability to perform repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts
