Distribution Center Merchandise Assistant Lead
Stone Mountain Park is seeking a Distribution Center Merchandise Assistant Lead responsible for processing merchandise receipts and assisting in various duties within the merchandise area. This role involves supervising employees, ensuring accurate product handling, and maintaining communication with vendors and staff.

Responsibilities
Receive all incoming and outgoing merchandise shipments; check receipts against packing lists and purchase orders
Check product for accuracy, quality, and damage, reporting appropriately
Ensure that all products are processed in an accurate and timely manner and that all products are marked with the correct stock numbers
Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems
Work with vendors and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and balance receipts
Ensure that all stock is properly labeled and located in the Distribution Center
Troubleshoot problems relating to all printers on the merchandise side of the Distribution Center
Maintain and perform good communication with the merchandise buyers, leads, and supervisors as well as the Inventory Control Clerk
Assist the Order Processors with the discrepancy forms to ensure that they are accurately completed
Supervise loading and unloading of delivery trucks
Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
Assist the Merchandise Area Lead with warehouse organization including building shelves, physical relocation of merchandise; ensure that current stocking parameters are followed and offer new suggestions
Scan the shelves for small quantities of active items that can be sent to a store
Update any necessary reports in Excel during the absence of the Merchandise Area Lead
Assist in the cleaning and organizational duties of the Distribution Center
All other duties as assigned
Directly supervising Distribution Center employees
Training employees
Planning, assigning, and directing work; setting priorities for Order Processors
Rewarding and disciplining employees
Address employee complaints and resolving problems
Qualification
Required
Must understand, read, write and speak the English language
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers
Must be able to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Minimum of three years warehouse experience with one year experience in buying, receiving, and inventory experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have and maintain a Driver's License
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and climb a 20 foot ladder
Employment at Stone Mountain Park is contingent on the completion of a criminal background check and a drug screen, with the results being negative
Preferred
Some college/technical school preferred
Accounts payable/receivable experience preferred
Computer literate with accurate data entry skills
Working knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Office a plus
Forklift training, certification, and experience preferred
