Projects Technician - Fabricator

Plastic Recycling Inc. is a family-owned company with a long history in the plastic recycling industry. They are seeking a Projects Technician - Fabricator responsible for repairing production equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and documenting project details.

Responsibilities

Repair general service production equipment
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical / electrical and software failure/issues. Including researching and ordering necessary parts
Document detailed project / repair reports and records activities in the work order system (Limble CMMS knowledge a plus)
Collect and assist with documentation of project details, as directed by management, and for preparing and setting up for production after project completion
Strong background in fabrication (Welding), mechanical, electrical, software, and design
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to plan and prioritize tasks in the order of urgency and ensure they are completed on time
Strong communication skills. Able to report issues and solutions clearly to project manager, and team members
Strong collaboration skills. Must be comfortable working in a team environment, that includes management, other department personnel and contractors involved in the projects
Strong safety awareness. Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements for the project’s success Responsible for safety as it pertains to daily tasks; PPE, GMPs, etc
Able to travel to other PRI locations locally as well as out of state should the need arise
Experienced in moving large machines. (Heavy equipment operation, Rigging)
Must possess strong work ethic, reliability and shop cleanliness practices
Perform all other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in fabrication and industrial maintenance or equivalent field, or minimum of 1 year of related experience with technical degree or certificate
Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operation manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment

Weld test consisting of 6G open route carbon steel 2" TIG
Thin gage stainless vertical and horizontal sheet metal
Metal cutting and grinding

Preferred

Pipe welding (small percentage of working time required)
Ability to follow written and oral instruction
Ability to analyze and correct mechanical and electrical issues associated with production equipment, and newly installed project equipment
Ability to MIG/TIG/Stick weld (Certification a plus)
Ability to utilize precision measurement equipment
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, and software failures/issues
Ability to lift sixty pounds
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, moisture and dirty environments
Electrical experience with drives and PLCs (a plus)
